A Traditional Owner (TO) takes you through life in the Kimberley as it was and how it is now.
This includes subjects such as Life as it is today and Life as it was.
Covers language, kinship relationships, day to day life in the communities, art and culture, addiction and hardships.
The early settlers started arriving in the 1880s, looking for grazing land for sheep and cattle. This led to conflict associated with the displacement of aboriginal people from their land.
Our TO’s grandparents lived through this period and passed on their experiences.
Some of this is very sensitive and cannot be talked about, but aspects of their daily lives can be discussed and described.
